What it is
A study library in one quiet app.
Open it and you are reading. The Bible text ships inside the app, so ordinary reading needs no connection at all, and everything else stays one tap from the plain text rather than in the way of it.
The study tools are the kind that usually take a shelf.
Connections and word study
344,799 cross-references shown as full readable text rather than bare verse numbers, word study built on Strong's dictionaries, and the original Hebrew and Greek under every verse.
Two classic commentaries
Matthew Henry's concise chapter commentary and the Jamieson, Fausset and Brown verse notes, folded in at the end of each chapter so the text itself stays first.
Plans, stats, and memory
Reading plans, including a whole Bible in a year and a chronological year, honest progress and streaks, and a spaced-repetition deck for committing verses to memory.
Notes, highlights, prayer
Highlights, verse notes, reflections, and a prayer list, stored on your device. Optional sync between your own devices exists, and it is off unless you turn it on.
Kids stories
Twenty illustrated Bible stories, retold simply and written to be read with a parent, each one a tap away from the real chapter it retells.
Also in there: streamed chapter narration, animated book overviews, a feed of biblical-archaeology news, and threads that map promises across the canon to the moments they are kept.
The companion
Manna Radio Theater.
A dramatized audio companion to the app: scripture staged with voices, music, and sound, while the words stay verbatim, nothing added to the text and nothing taken from it. The first episodes are in production now, alongside the beta.
Your data
Nothing in it watches you read.
No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no account required. Your notes and prayers stay on your device.
That is not marketing shorthand. The privacy policy spells out, in plain language, exactly what the app does and does not do.
Getting it
Free, and in private beta.
Manna is free, and always will be. There is no paywall and nothing in it is locked. If it becomes a gift to you, there is an optional way inside the app to help cover what it costs, and that is as commercial as it gets.
Right now Manna is in a small private beta for iPhone, distributed through Apple's TestFlight, and invitations are personal: email danielh@wholeyield.com and Daniel will set you up directly.
It is not on the App Store yet. When that changes, this page will say so.

Support for Manna is Daniel, the person who built it. The support page says how to reach him, what helps in a report, and how your data can be exported or deleted.
